The City of Bloomfield has one water tower which was built in 1952. This tower has the capacity to hold 300,000 gallons of water. The distribution system covers a 6.25 square mile area, and utilizes four inch, six inch, eight inch, ten inch, and 12 inch mains. The department also maintains and flushes the 258 fire hydrants that are located throughout the city.

The City of Bloomfield’s water supply comes from Lake Fisher, located west of Bloomfield. The water plant, built in 1965, has the capacity to deliver 1,000,000 gallons of water to the tower daily. Bloomfield’s average daily consumption is 302,000 gallons per day.
