| The City purchases natural gas from Clayton Energy and offers it
to residents of Bloomfield at a competitive rate. The purchased gas
is transported by ANR Pipeline. At year-end 2004, there were 36.352
miles of gas main and services in the City.
The gas distribution department has two full-time employees, Keith Sullivan and Steve Miller. They both hold a special license of certification from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Operator Qualification Program mandates they pass a combination of written tests and hands on demonstrations for every task they perform. Currently there are 14 pages on record of tasks and operations they are qualified to perform.
