The City of Bloomfield Police Department staffs five full-time officers, led by Chief Shawn Armstrong and Assistant Chief Zach Dunlavy, All of these officers are ILEA certified. A full-time office manager, Sabrina Yahnke, rounds out the department.
Officers patrol approximately 4000 miles per month, while answering an average of 12 calls per day.
The department participates in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Program (sTEP), and the South Central Task Force. Educational programs offered to the community include D.A.R.E., and the i Pledge Program through the State Alcoholic Beverages Division.
